Welcome To Cedar Mill

Located just seven miles west of downtown Portland and four miles north of Beaverton, is the early pioneer enclave of Cedar Mill. Rich with history, the old sawmill and the site of the first city post office both still stand near Cedar Mill Falls.

Founded in 1855 by Justus and John Halsey Jones, along with the sawmill that gave this area its name, Cedar Mill produced the western red cedar siding, shingles and shakes that helped build the greater Portland area and was among the earliest lumber operations in Washington County.
 
A small, well-educated population resides in this quaint, unincorporated area of Washington County. Quiet, green and affluent in a low-key way, this community boasts larger than average sized lots and is Highway 26 adjacent.
