As previously mentioned on our blog, Washington County has plans to expand Bethany Boulevard from a two-lane road to a five-lane road with two lanes of traffic in each direction, plus a turning lane. This expansion would require Washington County to purchase land from properties along the one-mile stretch of road and thereby reduce backyards up to approximately 25ft.
The Washington County Department of Land Use and Transportation is holding a neighborhood open house on January 27, 2011, from 5:00-7:30 pm at the Sunset Presbyterian Church (14986 NW Cornell Road) to present four design alternatives and listen to feedback from the community.
