Guild Mortgage has just announced a new 3-for-1 mortgage program. Buyers who qualify can bring 1% down payment and Guild will add 2% more as a grant to the borrower that does not need to be repaid. The buyer essentially moves in with 3% equity for only 1% down payment. This program is ideal for buyers with good credit who struggle with a down payment. Eligible buyers must have a minimum 680 FICO score and there is an income limit of 100% of the area median income where the home is purchased. This program is not limited to first-time homebuyers. Maximum loan amounts are $424,100 for single family homes or condos.
